Pricing & Studio Policies

Private Lesson Pricing
30-minute private lesson: $40
60-minute private lesson: $80
Lessons are held weekly at a reserved day and time.
There are no long-term contracts.
Billing
Lessons are billed monthly in advance.
Invoices are sent before the beginning of each month and are due by the seventh. The monthly total depends on the number of scheduled lessons that month. For example, a student with Monday lessons may have four lessons in one month and five in another.
Any approved credits from the previous month will be reflected on the next invoice.
Families planning to use charter-school funds should contact us as early as possible. Vendor approval and payment procedures vary by charter school.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
When sufficient notice is provided, we will make a reasonable effort to reschedule the lesson. If a makeup time is unavailable, an account credit may be applied to the following month.
Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice and missed lessons without notice are charged in full and are not eligible for a makeup lesson or credit.
Makeup lessons are subject to teacher and studio availability.
Late Arrivals
Students who arrive late may use the remaining portion of their scheduled lesson. Lessons cannot extend beyond the reserved ending time because another student may be scheduled immediately afterward.
If an instructor starts late, the missed time will be added to the lesson or arranged for another time.
Pausing or Ending Lessons
Two weeks’ written notice is required to pause or discontinue recurring lessons.
Notice should be emailed to staff@surfcitymusicschool.com. Tuition already paid is nonrefundable. Any remaining scheduled lessons during the notice period may still be attended.
Holidays and Studio Closures
Surf City Music School closes for selected major holidays. Current closure dates will be communicated to families in advance.
When a regularly scheduled lesson falls on an announced studio closure, the lesson will be rescheduled or handled through an account credit.
Unexpected closures, including teacher illness or emergencies, will be communicated directly to affected families.
Referral Program
Current students can receive one free 30-minute lesson when they refer a new student who enrolls at Surf City Music School.
The newly enrolled student will also receive one free 30-minute lesson. There is no limit to the number of qualifying referrals a family may make.
Referral credits are applied after the new student completes enrollment.
Student Arrival and Pickup
Parents and legal guardians are responsible for students before and after their scheduled lesson time.
Students must be picked up inside the studio. Please do not ask a child to wait outside or meet you in the parking lot.
Teachers frequently have another lesson immediately afterward and cannot provide supervision outside the student’s scheduled lesson time. Parents should arrive promptly when the lesson ends.
Siblings and Waiting Areas
Children waiting in the studio must remain supervised by a parent or legal guardian.
Siblings may not be left unattended while another child attends a lesson.
Photos and Videos
Lessons, recitals, and school events may occasionally be photographed or recorded for Surf City Music School’s website, social media, advertising, or other promotional materials.
Families who do not want their child photographed or recorded may opt out by notifying the school in writing at staff@surfcitymusicschool.com. We will make reasonable efforts to honor all documented opt-out requests.
Policy Agreement
By registering for lessons, students and parents acknowledge that they have reviewed and agreed to these policies.
Surf City Music School may update its policies when necessary. Families will be notified when a significant change affects their enrollment, billing, or scheduled lessons.
